During the interview, Mita revealed that the incident occurred while she was attending the Chennai Film Festival. A Telugu film director offered her the lead role in his film but with an alarming condition. He implied that she would need to live with him for two months. Initially, Mita thought the director’s English was weak and misunderstood his intentions. However, when he repeated his words, it became clear what he was suggesting. She said, “He tried to block my way, but I somehow managed to get out of there.” Despite his attempts, Mita managed to escape the situation.
Standing Firm on Principles
Mita Vashisht has always been vocal about maintaining her integrity in the industry. In the same interview, she mentioned that at the start of her career, she made it clear to directors that she would not compromise her principles by sleeping with them for film roles. This strong stance led to her being removed from some projects, but it also earned her respect and roles from other directors who valued her ethics.
