Varun Dhawan is all set to make his OTT debut with Citadel Honey Bunny, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series has been making headlines since its announcement, keeping fans on their toes. Finally, the makers have revealed the long-awaited teaser as well as the release date. Varun Dhawan mentioned at the major launch event that Samantha Ruth Prabhu motivated him during the shoot.

Varun Dhawan stated, “Honestly, my preparation was very easy compared to Samantha’s. It’s public knowledge what she was battling when she joined the show. I thought my rehearsals were tough, but then I saw her incredible work ethic despite her struggles, and it truly inspired me. We became partners in making things happen.”
He continued, “I’ve never been on a shoot or a creative process like that before, where I witnessed a co-actor going through such challenges. You learn a lot about human resilience and strength when you see someone battling something and still succeeding. Samantha inspired not just me, but also Raj, DK, Sita, and everyone at Amazon. Her dedication to this action show is truly inspirational.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu disclosed in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune illness. The actress then took a break from filming to focus on her health. The actress has taken a step towards raising awareness about the disease. She was also named the brand ambassador for Myositis India last year.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Citadel- Honey Bunny creators Raj and Dk posted on their X handle and revealed a date with the digits “01.08.” Fans reacted almost immediately after they shared the post. One of the admirers wrote, “Honey, Boney.” Another wrote “Waiting.” In addition to Varun and Samantha, it stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in key parts.
