Amitabh Bachchan got nostalgic as he shared a rare photo from his childhood. On the occasion of World Scout Scarf Day on 1 August, the veteran actor revealed he was part of the Scout Troop in his school, Boys’ High School, Allahabad. Bachchan shared a photo from his school magazine, showing him and his batchmates posing in their Scout uniforms. The text on the magazine read, “The Winner Of Inter Troop Challenge Shield–Allahabad District (1954).” In the photo, Amitabh can be seen standing in the third row on the right.

Sharing the photo, the Sholay star wrote, “Those good ol’ days of Boys Scouts… the special scarfs… the badge… the special salute… Baden Powell its Founder… and how many of those learnings still being practised.” This rare glimpse into Amitabh Bachchan’s childhood delighted his fans, with many expressing excitement and pride in attending the same institution as the legendary actor.

In his blog, Amitabh Bachchan shared more details about his Scout days, accompanied by additional photos. He reminisced, “Oh Gosh those were the days at BHS, Allahabad… and the scouting experiences with the troop and the visit of the head of the Scouts from Australia and how he remembered the number of autographs he signed.” He described the experience as “quite remarkable,” adding a personal touch to his nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Difficulty Recognising Himself
Reflecting on the old photos, Amitabh Bachchan remarked that the pictures appear rather grim, making it difficult for him to recognise himself. Despite this, he fondly recalled his fellow Scouts, writing, “Strange is it not how you remember those early days and have problems remembering the recent meets.”
On the professional front, Big B was recently seen in Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The sci-fi also features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan.
