MARTIN COUNTY — The search continues for a Jupiter man whose boat was located early Friday morning 12 miles east of Hobe Sound without him on board.
Richard Ferazi departed Lake Worth Inlet at about 2 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1 and has not been heard from since about 5 p.m. that day. He was expected to arrive at 6 p.m. Thursday at Murelle Marine, a boatyard in Lantana, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Ferazi was going fishing in a 32-foot center console boat, Coast Guard officials said on X. The Coast Guard is searching for Ferazi by air and sea.
None of Ferazi’s other belongings were found in the search Friday. The boat was located at about 2 a.m., said U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Nicholas Strasburg.
The Coast Guard planned to continue searching at least through daylight hours Friday, Strasburg said.
Local law enforcement agencies are assisting the U.S. Coast Guard is searching for Ferazi.
