GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A meeting is coming up to learn how to help lessen traffic and improve development as part of phase two for F 1/2 Parkway.
The City of Grand Junction is hosting a meeting about traffic improvements to F 1/2 Parkway at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, in room BB 113 at Colorado Mesa University Tech, 2508 Blichmann Ave.
Phase two of the project includes traffic adjustments — including 25 Road reconstruction onto F 1/2 Parkway — better travel to enter the loop for those heading to North Grand Junction and safety improvements for nearby neighborhoods, according to the city.
Additionally, a name change will happen for F 1/2 Parkway, and the city noted it will provide information to residents and property owners affected by the change.
“The benefits of the completion of F ½ Parkway include providing access to adjacent neighborhoods, alleviating traffic congestion, accommodating growth and new development, providing safer access for residents in the area, improving existing infrastructure and utility services, providing safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists while providing safe and attractive routes for pedestrians and cyclists,” the city’s press release read.
