Matthew Ebden and John Peers win men’s doubles at Roland Garros – MASHAHER

Aussie duo Matthew Ebden and John Peers won men’s doubles gold in a thriller at Roland-Garros against the American pair of Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram.

The Australians lost the first set but clawed their way back against the fourth-seeded Americans in a second-set tie-breakk, before taking gold in a super-tiebreak.

They became the only Australian gold medallists in Olympic tennis after “The Woodies” – Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde – lifted the 1996 title in the same event.
