Delhi University (DU) has seen a surge in applications for the 2024-25 academic session, with 3,00,090 candidates registered so far for the 71,000 available undergraduate seats, according to a senior university official. The registration process remains open until August 7, and numbers are expected to increase further.
As of now, over 93,500 candidates have completed Phase II of the admissions process by filling out their course and college preferences. The ongoing admission process is conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), which is based on the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) scores.
Delhi University began Phase II of the CSAS last Friday, following the release of CUET UG results by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Despite the commencement of Phase II, Phase I registrations are still open, allowing candidates to apply until August 7. After both phases are complete, a simulated rank list will be published on August 11, with the first merit list expected on August 16.
The academic session, initially scheduled to begin on August 1, was delayed due to the late announcement of CUET results by the NTA. This year, DU has also introduced a supernumerary quota for single girl children, allowing them admission based on merit across various programmes.
