AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin resident claimed a $29 million Lotto Texas jackpot prize from a June drawing that had been sold at an Austin convenient store.
The winner purchased the Quick Pick ticket from Salt Springs Xpress, located at 8101 Salt Springs Drive, Ste. A in Austin. They have chosen to remain anonymous, according to a Monday Lotto Texas release.
The lucky winner chose the cash value option when purchasing the ticket, meaning they received $16,643,761.41 before taxes. That makes this the ninth-largest lottery win ever in the KXAN viewing area.

The Austin resident learned they had the winning ticket while away from work, telling Lotto Texas they felt “very excited, but normal and down to earth.” The winner had won some smaller cash prizes in previous drawings.
Following their multi-million-dollar win, the winner said they were eager to “retire and enjoy” the remainder of their life.
Lotto Texas drawings happen each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT, per Lotto Texas. More details on the lottery game can be found online.
