DALLAS – Several people were taken to the hospital after a bizarre incident involving a multi-vehicle crash, a stabbing, and a chase on the LBJ Freeway.
It happened around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday on westbound Interstate 635 between the Greenville Avenue and Forest Lane exits.
Dallas police said several vehicles collided in traffic. One driver then got into a fight with another driver who was involved in the crash.
A third driver stopped to try to break up the fight and was stabbed.
A Texas Department of Transportation employee who was working in the area saw what was happening and ran to help.
That’s when the suspect got into the TxDOT vehicle and hit the employee before crashing.
Yet another driver stopped to help after seeing the TxDOT employee get hit. The suspect got into that driver’s vehicle and hit that driver as well.
