Sir Keir Starmer will chair another emergency COBRA meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss continued action to tackle the rioting that has been taking place around the country, Sky News understands.
The committee will be attended by relevant ministers and police chiefs.
Rioters threw petrol bombs in Belfast and “sustained violence” broke out in Plymouth last night in the seventh day of unrest since the Southport stabbings.
Meanwhile, police sources say they are aware of 30 gatherings planned tomorrow on what is expected to be a “big day” of disorder.
