Addison Rae’s Return Teased by Eli Roth – MASHAHER

It sure sounds like Addison Rae will be joining Eli Roth at the “Thanksgiving” table again.

Shortly after the first turkey day-themed horror movie “Thanksgiving” was released in November, it was announced that a sequel was being developed.

Roth, the director and co-writer of the first and second films, tells me that he and co-writer Jeff Rendell are about to hand in the follow-up script to the studio.

When I asked if Rae would be returning – her character is one of the few survivors at the end of the first movie – Roth smiled.

“I love Addison Rae,” he said Tuesday at the premiere of his new video game movie adaptation, “Borderlands.” “We kept her alive for a reason. It doesn’t feel like a ‘Thanksgiving’ movie without Addison Rae.”

Even so, sources tell me that Rae’s deal has not been officially signed yet.

The first film revolved around a serial killer who dresses like a 17th-century pilgrim and terrorizes residents of Plymouth, Mass., during the holiday season. It was inspired by a fake movie trailer Roth directed for 2007’s “Grindhouse.”

The film, which grossed $46 million worldwide against a $15 million budget, also starred Patrick Dempsey, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon.

In addition to Rae’s Gaby character, other survivors of the gruesome killing spree included Scuba (Gabriel Davenport), Ryan (Milo Manheim), Bobby (Jalen Thomas Brooks) and Jessica (Nell Verlaque).

Roth confirmed that the sequel will also take place during Thanksgiving. When asked if he has plans to expand the franchise into other holidays, Roth said, “Let’s get the sequel done first.”

“Thanksgiving 2” is set to open in 2025.

“BREAKING NEWS! John Carver will kill again!” Roth wrote on Instagram on Nov. 30. “Thank you everyone who supported ORIGINAL HORROR in theaters!!! Go see it now on the big screen while it’s in cinemas, sequel set for release in 2025! Taking a year to really get the script right, working on it starting today!”
