A Boone man was arrested in Ames for allegedly sexually enticing a minor in a hotel parking lot.

Nigel Baker, 29, was apprehended by the Ames Police Department at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Super 8 on Dayton Place in Ames.

According to the criminal complaint, Baker had agreed to meet up with a 13-year-old minor he found on social media. The account, which had the number “13” in its biography, was a decoy from an organization that catches sexual predators online.

According to the complaint, Baker allegedly spoke with the decoy account for about two weeks. He revealed he was 29 and when asked if the account’s age “bugged him at all,” he said it did not and replied “yes.”

Baker allegedly asked to exchange nude photos and sent several sexually charged messages over a two-week period.
