Jamie Lee Curtis on Tim Walz: ‘Oh, Daddy, Let’s Go!’ – MASHAHER

Just as Jamie Lee Curtis was getting ready for Tuesday’s “Borderlands” premiere in Los Angeles, Kamala Harris was in Phildelphia introducing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her vice presidential running mate.

Once on the red carpet, the Oscar winner gushed over Walz’s first campaign speech.

“Great!” she told me when I asked how she was feeling about Harris picking Walz as her running mate. “Did you hear his great speech? He made a statement that made me rise up. He was talking about the other side and he was saying what women do to their bodies is none of your damn business. That was like a rocket. I was like, ‘Oh, daddy! Let’s go!’ He really feels like the perfect choice.”

On Instagram, Curtis posted a screenshot of a partial news story about the speech along with the caption, “The rallying cry for this election! MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS. @kamalaharris @timwalz.”

Harris announced her big decision on Monday morning. “I am proud to announce that I’ve asked @Tim_Walz to be my running mate,” the vice president wrote on X. “As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his. It’s great to have him on the team. Now let’s get to work.”

Walz’s corresponding tweet read, “It is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign. I’m all in. Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school. So, let’s get this done, folks!”

Pres. Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race on July 21 after facing weeks of criticism for his debate performance against Donald Trump. He endorsed Harris, who became the official Democratic candidate on Aug. 5 when the delegate participated in a “virtual roll call.”

Curtis told me that she would not be attending the Democratic National Convention later this month in Chicago because she’ll be working at the time.

Fellow “Borderlands” star Jack Black is also feeling good about Walz. But he also insisted that he was feeling hopeful even before Biden dropped out of the race. Black was among the celebs who made an appearance at Biden’s $30 million star-studded fundraiser in downtown Los Angeles in June.

“I’m feeling very strong and positive vibes, but to tell you the truth, I always had a good feeling,” Black said. “Even before Kamala was on the ticket, I was like, ‘I feel like it’s going to work out. I feel like I believe in America. I feel like America is going to do the right thing when it comes time to go into the ballot box.’

“But once Kamala got in the race, it was like, Now, it’s on! You can’t deny it,” he continued. “But we still have a long way to go so I don’t want to count our chickens before they’re hatched. But I do feel like we’re in a really good place.”

Black said he probably won’t attend the convention: “I think I’m going to support in different ways.”
