During the investigation, deputies found out that 39-year-old Sean Christiansen, a convicted felon, lived at the home in question. Authorities said they also discovered that the man was in possession of several firearms and ammunition. Based on this information, sheriff’s detectives obtained a search warrant for Christiansen’s home.
While conducting that search, the department said more than 35 rifles and handguns were found, along with body armor, various firearm parts, illegal high-capacity magazines, thousands of rounds of ammunition, firearms manufacturing equipment and about five ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.
“A majority of these firearms are illegal to possess,” the department stated in a press release detailing the search.
Christiansen was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on the following charges:
-
Convicted felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition/stun gun
-
Possession of an illegal firearm
-
Possession of an illegal weapon (expandable baton)
-
Possession of a controlled substance for sale
An investigation into the weapons seizure remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities at (858) 565-5200.
