Breaking (also known as break dancing) will make it’s debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer, the only new sport that holds that distinction this year. (New-ish sports like surfing, BMX, and skateboarding all made their debut at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021). The breaking competition at the Olympics will be held over a two-day stretch on August 9 and 10, with 16 women competing on the first day, and 16 men competing on the second day.

While the sport requires competitors to execute certain moves from their arsenal, their routines are performed spontaneously to music played by a DJ and then judged on five criteria: technique, vocabulary, execution, musicality and originality.

To catch the first-ever Olympic b-boys and b-girls perform, check out the full breaking schedule so you can tune in.

Dates: August 9-10

Location: La Concorde, Paris

TV channels: NBC, E!, Telemundo, NBC Universo

Streaming: Peacock

Breaking, and every other sport at the Olympics, can be streamed on Peacock this summer. The streaming service will offer a curated viewing experience for viewers with the Discovery Multiview which allows fans to watch up to four events at once, so if you’re hoping to check out multiple events, you can keep them all up on your screen at the same time.

In addition to streaming on Peacock, the men’s and women’s breaking competitions will be broadcast between NBC, E!, Telemundo, and Universo.
