After Lady Gaga and Celine Dion were confirmed as the performers for this year’s opening ceremony, it was clear Paris came to play.
But now that those two powerhouses have sung their hearts out, and the world’s best athletes have stunned the masses, how could they possibly end it with an equally impressive bang?
If Variety’s reports are correct, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the answer.

Snoop is hardly a surprise, given he’s been seen gallivanting all over the city of love the past few weeks, cheering on US stars including Simone Biles, and featuring as NBC’s Olympics on-air personality.
The three acts, all of which are closely affiliated with Los Angeles, are guaranteed to generate excitement for the next round of the summer Olympics in the City of Angels. They will reportedly feature in a combination of live and pre-taped performances.
Before the triple-whammy of musical performances, Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise is expected to do all sorts of spectacular motorcycle stunts, in honour of his most recent Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One film, before parachuting down next to the Hollywood sign in LA, where the musicians will take it away.
