UPDATE: The Ysleta Independent School District confirmed the pedestrian killed after the crash was a student from Parkland High School.
Ysleta ISD issued the following statement:
At approximately 1 p.m. today, the Ysleta ISD Security team was made aware of an incident that occurred on Loop 375 near Bomarc Street involving a student from Parkland High School. We are working closely with local authorities to understand the circumstances. The safety and well-being of our students are the top priorities at Ysleta ISD, and we will be providing counseling services to any students, faculty, and staff members who request assistance.

ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A pedestrian has died after a crash on Loop 375 West at Dyer on Thursday, Aug. 8, in Northeast El Paso, El Paso Police said.
Police sent out an alert to media just before 1 p.m. saying they responded to the crash and shut down the area on Loop 375 West at Dyer. Traffic was directed to the exit at Rail Road.
Our crews were at the scene of the crash and can confirm a person died at the scene. The Crimes Against Persons unit is currently investigating the incident.
As of 8:10 p.m., TxDOT has reported that all west and eastbound lanes of Loop 375 West at Dyer are back open.
No further information has been released. This story will be updated as soon as we learn more.
