DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Remnants of Tropical Storm Debby swept through Central Pennsylvania early Friday morning, leaving flooded roads and fallen trees in its path.
Portions of Harrisburg saw some of the worst of Debby this morning as residents woke up to fallen trees and branches populating roadways, making morning commutes near impossible.
Photos and videos from Penbrook, Harrisburg City, and Swatara Township show parked cars under trees that have been ripped from the ground by wind and rain. Trees also caused severe damage to homes and businesses in the area.
A Harrisburg church saw its roof blow off during Friday morning’s storm and The Inclinator Company of America building was severely damaged.
Governor Josh Shapiro urged residents to “stay safe” and to listen to statewide and local officials.
According to the local Emergency Management Agency, over 2,000 residents are without power in the Dauphin County area. Harrisburg and Penbrook roads remain blocked by trees and flooding in select areas.
