Dwayne Johnson and Disney’s Monster Jam Motorsports Project Announced – MASHAHER

At D23, Dwayne Johnson announced a new “live-action experience” set in the world of motorsports called “Monster Jam.”

“We got an opportunity here that we could create something that is immersive and cool and fun, and also a live-action experience for our families all around the world, from the POV of these incredible, iconic monster trucks and their very eccentric and crazy drivers,” Johnson said during Disney‘s Friday night panel in Anaheim. “Ladies and gentlemen, ‘Monster Jam’ is gonna be a heck of a ride.”

Details on the project are slim, with little information given about the project’s scope, if it will be a film or series, or how it will be released.

While introducing the project, Johnson discussed his love of big trucks.

“I’m so excited to break the news to you guys,” he said. “As you guys know, I’m a pickup truck man. That’s all I drive. I drove my pickup truck here. It’s out back. You guys know that, and I love motorsports, love monster trucks.”

Before the announcement, Johnson came onstage with some dance moves to introduce the “Moana 2” trailer. In addition to returning to voice Maui in “Moana 2,” Johnson will also produce the live-action remake of the original “Moana,” in which he will also play Maui.

Johnson has had a decades-long relationship with Disney, starting with starring roles in the 2007 comedy “The Game Plan,” the 2009 “Race to Witch Mountain” and 2021’s “Jungle Cruise.” He also played himself in several Disney Channel sitcoms, including “Cory in the House,” “Hannah Montana” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
