COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Shots were fired Sunday morning near Ohio State’s south campus, prompting a large police presence in what dispatchers described as a barricade situation.

A police dispatcher said that just after 8 a.m., a 911 call was received about a breaking and entering at the 1500 block of Worthington Street in the University District with shots being fired into an apartment by a man. As officers arrived, they saw the suspect re-load his gun before he barricaded himself somewhere in the area.

A dispatcher said that the suspect and police exchanged gunfire on two occasions but the suspect nor any officers have been injured.
