KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after falling from the Heart of America Bridge Sunday morning, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
KCPD said officers were dispatched to the bridge, which carries Route 9 across the Missouri River, just after 10 a.m. on reports of a person who fell from the structure.

Upon arrival, KCPD and KCFD found the victim and were able to place them on a medic board and carry them up the rock base to an ambulance.
According to KCPD, the victim suffered serious injuries and is currently in the hospital.
No details have been released about the victim’s identity or how they fell from the bridge. However, stay tuned at FOX4 News for the latest updates.
