Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar Salman Khan, director Namrata Rao, producers Reema Kagti, Ritesh Sidhwani, Manish Menghani of Amazon Prime Video, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Agnihotri, Arpita Khan Sharma, Shabana Azmi and others attended the trailer launch of Amazon Prime Video’s documentary Angry Young Men, based on the lives of Salim-Javed. The trailer launch was memorable in many ways but it was Salman Khan who took the cake with his quotes.

After the introductions, the first question was asked by the host to Salman Khan. To which, he said, “Keep me for later. Then I can say ‘Jo bolna tha, woh toh baaki sab bol chuke hai!’” His first statement made it clear that he was in a great mood.
Zoya Akhtar opened up on the separation of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, “I discovered while making this series that nobody knew what happened. After making the series, we still don’t know what happened (laughs)!” Salman quipped, “That would be shown in the next season. And that season would be really controversial!”
Farhan Akhar was asked about the piece of advice given to him by his father, Javed Akhtar. He replied, “My father said, ‘We come from a long tradition wherein sons never listen to their fathers! Hence, please don’t listen to me, go ahead and do whatever you want’! I tried my best to follow his advice.”
Salman Khan then spoke about his father, Salim Khan, “We had no choice. If they are angry young men, my father is the angrier one! Hence, we still listen to whatever he says.”
He continued, “They were the highest-paid writers then. And they are not leaving that position even now! It’s good that they didn’t pursue acting and they didn’t write themselves. Look at them (points at their old picture). Aaj bhi aise heroes nahin milenge.” It led to applause in the hall.
Salman Khan was not done. He joked, “Main pheke hue paise utha leta hoon. Aaj kal bahut utha raha hoon!”
Angry Young Men releases on Amazon Prime Video on August 20.
