The Kannada film ‘Bheema’ is making everyone sit up and notice its performance at the box office. Directed by Duniya Vijay, the film collected over Rs 12.85 crore nett in four days, reported the trade website Sacnilk. It’s essentially a gangster drama with a message-driven ending. However, its steady performance at the ticket window suggests something about it has really clicked among the audience.
The film was released only in the Kannada market. Earning over Rs 10 crore in four days from a regional market alone is a fantastic sign for any film.

- Friday: Rs 3.95 crore

The film seems to have got a lot more potential. However, it will have to take a backseat with many big releases hitting the screens in two days. This includes ‘Thangalaan’, ‘Double iSmart’ and ‘Mr Bachchan’, among others in the South market, and ‘Khel Khel Mein, ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Vedaa’ in the north.
‘Bheema’ might have performed decently at the Karnataka box office, but it is not likely to sustain its position in the market now. It will be interesting to see how much it manages to collect before other films start sharing screens.
In ‘Bheema’, actor Duniya Vijay plays the ultimate saviour. His goal is to chase the politician who’s also supplying drugs, and put an end to his malicious activities. The actor is known for his mass appeal on the screen with films that are a whole package of full-fledged mass entertainment.
‘Bheema’ also features Ashwini, Kalyanee Raju, Black Dragon Majnu, Cockroach Sudhi and Achyuth Kumar, among others. It is produced by Krishna Sarthak and Jagadeesh Gowda.
