Nikhil Patel, the estranged husband of actress Dalljiet Kaur, has spoken out about the turbulent end of their marriage. In a detailed statement, Patel accused Dalljiet of verbally abusing him and manipulating the media to portray herself as a victim. Patel’s revelations come months after Dalljiet returned to India from Kenya and hinted at her troubled marriage through cryptic social media posts.

The timeline of their relationship
Patel began by outlining the timeline of their relationship, revealing that they “met in Dubai in 2022” and had a Hindu ceremony in Mumbai in March 2023. After the ceremony, the couple moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where Patel resides as a British expat. However, by January 2024, Dalljiet returned to India with her son Jaydon, signalling the end of their relationship.
Accusations of deception and abuse
In his statement, Patel claimed that their marriage was never legally binding, as he was not yet divorced from his first wife. He alleged that Dalljiet was aware of this but still portrayed their union as legal, which he described as “deliberately deceptive and meant solely for the purpose of supporting her victim’s self-portrayal.”
Patel also accused Dalljiet of being unable to adapt to life in Kenya, where she did not enjoy the same level of celebrity status as in India. He mentioned that after she returned to India, he continued to try to reconcile, despite being subjected to “intense scrutiny on social media” and “late-night abusive calls and messages.”
Patel said, “I truly tried my best to ask her to work on our relationship and kept matters private. I asked her to return to Kenya so we could be a family again and work through our differences.”
Allegations involving their children
The statement also touched on the impact of the separation on their children. Patel accused Dalljiet of cyberbullying his teenage daughter, who reportedly requested to be left alone by Kaur. He said, “My teenage daughter is a young woman and Dalljiet’s actions continue to place her under immense mental, social and psychological pressure.”
Patel expressed concern for his daughter’s mental and emotional well-being, urging Dalljiet to “leave my children alone.”
The Kenya incident and legal issues
Patel further alleged that Dalljiet returned to Kenya in June 2024 with the intent of causing turmoil and creating content for social media. He claimed that she fabricated a narrative of being homeless to obtain a court order preventing her eviction, despite having left Kenya in January.
He explained, “She fabricated a narrative that she had never left Kenya and, under false pretences, obtained a court order from the Kenyan courts on June 11th to prevent me from evicting her and Jaydon, claiming she had no other place to stay. However, she had left for India in January 2024, making the eviction story untrue.”
Patel also mentioned that Dalljiet filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him on his birthday, accusing him of being an NRI, which he denies, asserting that he has “never been a Non-Resident Indian” and that he has “always been a British citizen.”
Conclusion and plea for privacy
In closing, Patel expressed his hope that sharing his side of the story would bring an end to the ongoing media drama. He urged the media to exercise restraint and focus on protecting the innocent children involved. Patel wished Dalljiet and Jaydon well and expressed a desire for Kaur to “let go of the bitterness and anger” and to “find her own true inner healing and peace.”
