(FOX40.COM) — The Crozier Fire has burned for five consecutive days in El Dorado County, but residents who were asked to evacuate are finally receiving some good news.
According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, all areas except the Mosquito/Swansboro are being repopulated. On an information web page dedicated to providing updates on the Crozier Fire, deputies added that the Animal Services shelter will remain open until 6 p.m. on Sunday for evacuees to reclaim their animals and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.

Among the areas included in the repopulation zone are Kelsey, Volcanoville, Georgetown, and Garden Valley.
“Please be cautious as you return to areas that are being repopulated,” the sheriff’s office said. “Be aware of emergency personnel, vehicles, and equipment that will still be operating in the area.”
In Cal Fire’s last update, the Crozier Fire was at 1,938 acres and 18% contained.
