NEW HARTFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A truck has struck a bridge in the town of New Hartford, closing roads in the area, according to New Hartford Police.
New Hartford Police, as well as the town’s highway departments and the New York State Department of Transportation are on the scene at Oneida Street. Police say the bridge there was struck by a commercial vehicle. The truck was carrying a trailer, which itself was carrying an excavator when it hit the bridge, then flipped over.
According to New Hartford Police, Oneida Street is currently closed between Roberts Road and Oxford Road. Also, State Route 8 is closed — in the northbound lanes only — between the town of Sauquoit and Kellogg Road.
This is an ongoing investigation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
