The Akshay Kumar-led Khel Khel Mein is struggling at the box office with negligible ticket sales, which is also aided by other factors too. According to the latest set of data we received, Khel Khel Mein has sold 11,500 tickets across the Top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – for August 15 and is looking at a final total of 30,000 tickets by Wednesday night.
The movement for Khel Khel Mein is slow and with restrained showcasing in the mass belts, the film will heavily depend on the business it does in the national chains. Being a national holiday, the film could get a better-than-usual walk-in audience, pushing it to open better than the last few Akshay Kumar films.
The third release of the week, Vedaa, is also struggling at the ticket windows, as the Top 3 national chains have sold approximately 9,500 tickets for the Independence Day. Being action-heavy, the film will have footfalls in the single screens, and could definitely reduce the gap with Khel Khel Mein through the movement on the day.
Both the releases are impacted by a juggernaut called Stree 2, and it’s going to be a one-horse race at the box office for the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao film.
