ETTRICK – Around 12:36 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, police responded to a report of a shooting. Officers located four individuals who had been shot on scene at Virginia State University [VSU] in the area of 218 Boisseau Street. All four victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The injuries are considered non-life threatening. At this time, the investigation indicates none of the victims are currently enrolled for the fall 2024 semester. Classes begin on Monday, August 19.
Chesterfield County police stated, “Contrary to reports, no officers discharged their firearms during this incident. Police have identified multiple suspects and charges are pending.”
There is no further threat to the VSU community in relation to this incident, and both the Chesterfield County Police and the VSU Police Department are investigating the shooting.
