Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir says important forward Josh Treacy is more unlikely than likely to return to face Greater Western Sydney on Saturday.
Treacy will be on “minimal” duties at training on Wednesday, as he was on Monday, after missing the loss to Geelong with a knee injury.
“He’s going to be touch and go, more unlikely than likely,” Longmuir said.
“It’s improving, but we just can’t take a risk on it.
“We were hoping he would get up this week as well, but it probably hasn’t improved as quickly as we need.”
Longmuir said Treacy’s PCL issue is a “week-by-week” proposition and said they were not interested in preserving him for a potential finals campaign.
The forward did not join teammates on track for the start of their session at Cockburn.
Ruckman Sean Darcy is tracking “better” after being pulled from the Cats clash late and is likely to be considered if he gets through training on Wednesday.
“He hasn’t done much since the game, he will do a bit more at training today,” Longmuir said.
Reserve ruckman Liam Reidy is better prepared to make his debut if required this week after playing a full game for Peel Thunder at the weekend, according to his coach.
Michael Walters will be available for selection at some level if he completes training.
