Mobile Police sergeant arrested in Baldwin County, placed on administrative leave – MASHAHER

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile Police Department sergeant was arrested Tuesday night in Baldwin County, according to MPD.

Sgt. Chris Alan Reed was booked into the Baldwin County Jail around 9 p.m. Aug. 13 on one count of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest was made in connection with a narcotics operation from the Baldwin County Drug Task Force.

According to officials, Reed has been with the department since 2012 and has been part of the domestic violence unit.

Baldwin County officials said the charge follows an attempted undercover drug buy of meth on the Eastern Shore. Reed was in a city vehicle during the attempted buy.

MPD said Reed has been placed on administrative leave.
