Who among us hasn’t enjoyed our birthday celebrations so much that we tried to keep the party going with some extra flair? Ford certainly knows the feeling. In April of this year, the Blue Oval brand announced the 60th Anniversary edition of the Mustang as a tip of the cap to the 1965 car.
This morning, Ford restarted the celebration with the addition of the iconic Brittany Blue paint color to the anniversary package. The new color joins the red, white, and blue options already available. Customers interested in ordering the color will need to jump at the opportunity as Ford is only offering the color from August 16 to August 19.
The anniversary package is limited to 1965 units, a fun play on the model’s first official model year. The Brittany Blue models are limited to the coupe body style and 10-speed automatic transmission. All Brittany Blue anniversary cars will be equipped with the active exhaust, Brembo brakes, limited-slip rear axle, and Space Gray upholstery.
All anniversary editions get 20-inch five-spoke wheels finished in a dark gray and stamped with a red center cap that calls back to the 1965 model. There’s also the smoked Nite Pony headlights and a mesh grille design, which calls back to the original, according to Ford. Plus, Ford wouldn’t sell such a limited car without adding a serialized plaque to the instrument panel, so that makes its way onto the model.
Pricing for the Brittany Blue anniversary model starts at $66,840. Production starts later this year, with Ford randomly selecting entries after the application window closes.
