Newcastle Unitedโs Fabian Schรคr has become the first player to be sent off in the 2024/25 Premier League season after a coming together with Ben Brereton-Diaz.
With Newcastleโs tie with Southampton at 0-0, Brereton-Diaz barged into the back of the Newcastle defender after the ball had gone.
As Schรคr got up again, he and the Chilean international had a coming together in which Schรคr was judged to have headbutted Diaz, who fell to the floor.
Though VAR checked it, they upheld the referees decision and left the home side down to 10 men.
