Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was pulled from Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins with an apparent injury.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Nimmo, who homered earlier in the game, fouled back the first pitch of his at-bat against Andrew Nardi and immediately appeared to be in some distress.
While it was difficult to say exactly what the injury was, Nimmo was checked out by the training staff and initially stayed in the game to finish out the at-bat. But after striking out, he was replaced by Jeff McNeil in left field in the top of the eighth inning.
