After winning hearts with his film debut in the Sanjany Leela Bhansali film Gangubai Kathiawadi, alongside Alia Bhatt, the actor was recently a part of filmmaker Neeraj Pandey’s ambitious film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha that explores the romantic chemistry of offscreen best friends Ajay Devgn and Tabu after many years. The actor also worked with filmmaker Neeraj for the first time and he shared his experience of working with the Baby director and appreciated his attitude towards his work.
Shantanu Maheshwari opens up on working with Neeraj Pandey in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha; says, “The discipline he has towards his work is inspiring”
Speaking about his experience with Neeraj Pandey on the sets of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Shantanu said, “With the kind of clarity he explains his scenes to the artists, to explaining emotions minimally but with impactful words is his special quality. I have never seen him angry or frustrated, irrespective of any ups and downs on the set. The discipline he has towards his work is very inspiring. Being on his set was truly a great learning experience for me.”
The young actor feels that getting to work with two of the most desired directors in the industry has completely changed him as a performer. He added, “I feel so grateful to have gotten to work with two legendary directors. The change that they have brought for me as an actor has been amazing! The awareness about different approaches to a scene, to intricate detailing of every aspect of the story, is something I have learned on their sets. People see me in different light, because big credit goes to both my directors for giving me these opportunities and bringing out the best in me.”
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha also featured Saiee Manjrekar as Shantanu and Saiee portrayed the younger version of Ajay Devgn and Tabu respectively. Also starring Jimmy Sheirgill, the film released in cinemas on August 2.
