KUCHING: Sprinter Afrina Batrisyia Mohd Rizal swept past her opponents to shatter the girl’s 100m Malaysia Games (Sukma) record at the Sarawak Stadium on Monday (Jan 19).
The 20-year-old clocked a time of 11.64s, to improve on the previous 16-year record of 11.81s set by Johor’s Siti Fatima Mohamed at the 2008 Sukma Games in Terengganu.
Terengganu’s Izzatul Musfirah Ahmad took silver with a time of 11.90s, while bronze went to Sarawak’s Carmilla Octavia Cooray, who clocked 12.19s.
Johor’s Danish Ifthikar Mohammad took the sprint king title by finishing his race with a time of 10.53s in the boys’ 100m final.
Selangor’s Danish Irfan Tamrin took silver with a time of 10.60s while Pahang’s Efrain Feerzan Qhan came in third with a time of 10.66s.
