WAUSAU, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wausau say one man has been arrested for his alleged role in a fight Sunday night that resulted in the death of another man.
According to a release from the Wausau Police Department, officers responded at 6:20 p,m, to the 400 block of Washington Street after a caller reported a fight between two men.

Police say one of the men, 43-year-old Thomas Lee Schroeder, allegedly hit the other man causing him to fall into the roadway.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim of the fight lying unconscious in the road with an apparent head injury.
The victim, 53-year-old Chad Lattimer from Wausau, was then taken to the hospital where he later died on Monday night due to his injuries.
Schroeder, also from Wausau, was said to have left the scene before police arrived and was last seen on foot headed northeast.
At 6:32 p.m., police say they were able to locate Schroeder on the 400 block of North 4th Street as he was walking back to the crime scene.

Following a “brief struggle,” Schroeder was arrested and taken to the Marathon County Jail where he is currently being held on the following charges.

Resisting an officer

Bail jumping.
Schroeder and the victim were said to be known to each other and Schroeder is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m
