The NFL has tapped Anitta to headline the halftime performance at the league’s first-ever game in South America on Sept. 6. The Green Bay Packers will face the Philadelphia Eagles at the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo in the kick off to the 2024 season.
“Growing up in Brazil has completely shaped my journey as an artist and of course, as a person,” said Anitta in a statement. “It means everything to be able to perform in São Paulo at the NFL’s first game in Brazil, where I can bring fans around the world the excitement and joy of our amazing culture. It’s really a dream come true to be a part of this moment.”
The setlist for Anitta’s halftime show is said to include her biggest hits and will be shown live across the NFL’s world feed and local Brazilian game broadcasts. The lineup will also include Brazilian pop singer Luísa Sonza, who will perform the country’s National Anthem Hino Nacional Brasileiro, and American-Brazilian singer Zeeba, who will perform the U.S. National Anthem.
For fans in São Paulo, the NFL has prepared a three-day fan festival at Parque Villa Lobos beginning on Sept. 6, with additional watch parties scattered across the city. Brazilian viewers can watch the Packers-Eagles game on Sept. 6 across CazéTV, RedeTV!, ESPN Brazil and NFL Game Pass on DAZN.
Fans in the United States can see highlights of the halftime show on NBC Peacock, with the full performance appearing on the NFL’s official YouTube channel shortly after the game ends.
In addition to her performance, Anitta has a fashion collaboration with the NFL that will be available for purchase starting Sept. 1 at the NFL Shop presented by Visa at Morumbi Shopping. It will also be sold on gameday at the NFL Shop at the Corinthians Arena.
“With the excitement of the NFL’s inaugural game in Brazil, we felt it was essential to tap into the rhythm of São Paulo’s dynamic music scene,” added Tim Tubito, director of events and game presentation for the NFL. “We’re thrilled to welcome global sensation Anitta and a lineup of Brazil’s finest artists to this landmark event, promising fans and viewers around the globe an unforgettable celebration of culture and performance.”
