The Burke County Sheriff’s Office recently identified the four people involved in a fatal ATV crash in Hephzibah, and provided updates on their conditions.

The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Greiner Circle and Eagle Pass Road in Hephzibah, according to previous reporting. When deputies arrived, they found the ATV upright in a hay field.

The driver, identified Monday as Robert Joseph Bouteiller, 39, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and entered the adjacent field, causing the vehicle to flip multiple times and eject the passengers, The Chronicle reported. Bouteiller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three passengers in the vehicle were ejected during the wreck and later taken to Wellstar Hospital for treatment, according to previous reporting.

They were identified as Sean Parker, 34, and Felicia Parker, 34, both of Millen, Georgia; and, Christopher Wright, 43, of Jackson, South Carolina, according to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office.

As of earlier this week, all three passengers were still receiving medical care at Wellstar and were reportedly in stable condition, according to the release.

“The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident,” according to officials. “Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones affected by this tragic event.”

GoFundMe created for Bouteiller’s family

Bouteiller’s family created a GoFundMe on Monday to help cover funeral expenses.

The site notes Bouteiller left behind his wife, three sons − ages 18, 16 and 6 − and a 5-year-old daughter.

“His family and friends depended on him so much and he never hesitated to step up,” Emma Reynolds, the organizer of the fundraiser, wrote on the site. “I’m asking for anyone to contribute, no matter how little, to celebrate a man who brought so much light to those around him. Let’s show him the strength of his love and spirit for his family and friends and support his family in his absence. There is no doubt he will fly high now, but he will be greatly missed.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, the site raised more than $3,600 of the $5,000 goal from about 40 donors.

Bouteiller’s funeral service is set to take place Wednesday, according to the site.
