Kessel Promoted to Assistant General Manager of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins – MASHAHER

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that Amanda Kessel, who served as a special assistant to general manager Kyle Dubas in 2023-24, will now report to new Wilkes-Barre Scranton general manager Jason Spezza as his assistant general manager in 2024-25.

In addition to her role as assistant general manager in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, she was promoted to manager of minor league operations.

Kessel, a three-time World Champion, and Olympic Gold Medalist is the younger sibling of former Penguins star Phil Kessel, who skated in Pittsburgh from 2015 to 2019, winning the Stanley Cup in 2016 and 2017.

As a top player for the United States, Amanda was drafted into the PWHL for Montreal last season, but she did not dress for any games, opting to pursue an executive role with the Penguins.

Kessel played four seasons at the University of Minnesota, scoring 248 points in 136 games. She briefly skated in the NWHL and PWHPA, making her last appearance with Team Adidas in 2022-23, scoring five points in six games.
