Muhyiddin’s statement-taking by police postponed, lawyer overseas – MASHAHER



KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s statement-taking by the police at Bukit Aman here has been postponed.

It was originally scheduled for Tuesday (Aug 20).

The postponement is due to his lawyer unable to make the appointment today as he is currently not in the country.

When contacted, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the matter.

He added that the session will be conducted on Wednesday (Aug 21) at the same location at 11am,” he said.

This comes after Pahang police received 28 reports lodged against Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who allegedly touched on 3R (race, religion, royalty) topics while campaigning for the Nenggiri state by-election.

Pahang police chief Comm Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the investigation would be carried out by the Classified Crimes Investigation Unit of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.

“So far, we have received 28 reports lodged in all Pahang districts,” he said when contacted by Bernama on Sunday (Aug 18).

A speech by the former prime minister allegedly involving the sovereignty of Sultan Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah during his tenure as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong went viral recently.
