Bollywood legend Zeenat Aman has taken a trip down memory lane, sharing a heartfelt post about winning the prestigious IIFA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema. The actress, known for her iconic roles in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat and Don, opened up about the unexpected honor and the personal growth she experienced during that time.

“There aren’t too many pictures of me from this phase of my life. And certainly very few glamorous ones. Which makes this memory all the sweeter. Those were the quiet years – acutely so for me, but probably a phase that many middle-aged women can relate to,” she wrote in the caption of her latest IG post.
A Quiet Phase and an Unexpected Honour
Aman revealed that the years leading up to the IIFA award ceremony were a relatively quiet phase in her life, focused on motherhood and personal growth. Despite her initial hesitation to attend the event, she ultimately decided to go accompanied by her sons. The actress described the award as a recognition of her contribution to cinema and a moment that reignited her passion for the craft. She also shared humorous anecdotes about the star-studded event, showcasing her witty and observant nature.
An excerpt of her post read, “You see, I am more an observer than a talker. The event was sponsored by a renowned alcohol company, and their vodka kept the attendees in unguarded, high spirits! There were enough shenanigans underway to fill a gossip magazine, but you know me, I believe discretion is the better part of valour.”
Speaking of the professional front, the 72-year-old actor is all set to make her acting comeback. She will be seen sharing the screen space with Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol in Bun Tikki. In addition to this, she will also make a cameo appearance in Netflix’s upcoming show, The Royals, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter in the lead.
