Florida’s wet season is living up to its name this week thanks to a stalled front draped across the peninsula. That front has combined with ample tropical moisture to trigger round after round of thunderstorms, drenching the Sunshine State. Some places have already seen a few inches of rain and an additional 1-3 inches is expected across most of the state through the weekend. Severe weather is unlikely, but one of the storms did spawn a quick-hitting waterspout in central Florida on Wednesday morning. While widespread flash flooding is unlikely, slow-moving storms over South Florida could trigger some flash flooding this weekend.
