Divers are searching for the missing daughter of Mike Lynch after it was suggested that she may not be inside the sunken superyacht.
Specialist cave divers are continuing their search for 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the last person remaining unaccounted for after the Bayesian sank on Monday.
Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of Morgan Stanley International bank, and his wife Judy, along with Chris Morvillo, a lawyer at Clifford Chance, and his wife Neda, are also thought to be among the dead.
The group had been invited onboard to celebrate Mr Lynch’s court victory, after he was acquitted of fraud in San Francisco. His body is believed to be among the five recovered.
Massimo Mariani, an interior ministry official, said Hannah Lunch may still be inside the ship, which lies 165ft underwater, or could have been thrown into the sea when it sank.
On Wednesday, the Italian authorities had said they believed the bodies of Mr Lynch and his daughter were among those found.
But on Thursday morning, a source close to the rescue operation suggested that she may have not yet been located inside the wreckage. Angela Bacares, her mother and Mr Lynch’s wife, 57, survived.
Hannah Lynch had just won a place at the University of Oxford to read English after receiving her A-level results last week at Latymer Upper School in West London.
A spokesman for the school told The Telegraph earlier this week that “our thoughts are with their family and everyone involved as we await further updates”.
The Telegraph understands she receiving an award for outstanding academic achievement last year.
Mr Lynch and his wife were frequent donors to the school, contributing to its bursary fund in 2023, 2022 and 2021.
The Telegraph revealed that the British tech tycoon, 59, had put his £30 million yacht up for sale in March but withdrawn it from the market in July, shortly after being acquitted of fraud.
He planned to spend the summer on board the 56-metre vessel and review the decision to sell in the autumn, industry sources told The Telegraph.
