Yankees’ Jasson Dominguez gets two hits, Scott Effross perfect again for Triple-A – MASHAHER

Yankees prospect and future everyday outfielder Jasson Dominguez picked up two hits in his latest start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In Thursday’s 8-7 loss to St. Paul, Dominguez — starting as the DH — went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Both hits were singles, and he stole a base and was caught stealing.

In his last four games with the RailRiders, Dominguez is 9-for-18. He is 14-for-32 (.438) in his last eight games.

Dominguez was called up for the Yankees’ series-finale against the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 18, where the youngster started in left field. In that contest, Dominguez went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

So far this season, Dominguez is slashing ..304/.360/.786 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 29 games with Triple-A after spending 14 games between Low-A and Double-A while rehabbing from an elbow injury.

In addition to Dominguez’s good hitting night, reliever Scott Effross continues to dominate in Triple-A. On Thursday, the right-hander pitched 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out two.

Over 18 appearances in Scranton, Effross has pitched to a 3.86 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. However, over his last six appearances (8.1 IP), Effross has not allowed a run. He’s also allowed just four hits over that span to go along with nine strikeouts.
