NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh on Sunday raised concerns regarding the ongoing investigation into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case. He questioned the delay in the CBI’s actions saying that the only arrest in the case has been made by the Kolkata Police.
“One arrest has been made and that too by the Kolkata police. What is the CBI doing? So much delay is happening, so much fake news, politics is going on, too stop all this the case must be solved first,” the TMC leader told news agency ANI.
Ghosh urged the protesting doctors to return to work and said that they can continue their protest in “some other format”.
“They should have trust in the CBI, the Supreme Court. (The doctors) should get come back to work, their protest can be done in some other format,” he said.
Ghosh said that he will not comment on the corruption case investigation, as it is currently in the hands of the CBI and the Supreme Court.
CBI officials launched search operations on Sunday at the premises of former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital principal Sandip Ghosh, ex-MSVP Sanjay Vashisth, and 13 others in and around Kolkata. The searches are part of the probe into alleged financial irregularities at the institute. The anti-corruption unit of the CBI is also investigating the residences and offices of those involved in supplying materials for patient management and care.
