Salil Parekh, the CEO of Infosys, has assured that the company will onboard all individuals who have been offered jobs, despite some adjustments in the joining dates.
This announcement comes in the wake of concerns about delays in the onboarding process for many fresh engineering graduates.
Recent reports highlighted that Infosys has postponed the onboarding of around 2,000 engineering graduates from the 2022 batch.
These delays have sparked anxiety among the new recruits, leading to a formal complaint against Infosys by the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), a union representing IT and ITES workers.
The complaint, filed with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, alleged Infosys of pushing back the joining dates for these new hires, who were selected for system engineer and digital specialist engineer roles during the 2022-23 recruitment drive.
According to NITES, many of these graduates received their offer letters as early as April 2022 but have since faced continuous delays in the onboarding process.
The union also pointed out that these candidates were required to participate in unpaid pre-training programmes and unexpected additional assessments. Despite meeting all the necessary conditions, they have been left in uncertainty for over two years.
Addressing these concerns, Parekh told PTI, “Every offer that we have given, that offer will be someone who will join the company. We changed some dates, but beyond that, everyone will join Infosys, and there is no change in that approach.”
Infosys, had a total employee base of 315,332 as of June 2024.
