Aamir Ali, a well-known name in Indian television, recently shared the emotional challenges he faced during his career journey. In a conversation with BLive Studio, Aamir revealed that he initially aspired to be a film star but found himself struggling to make ends meet. His journey from aspiring film actor to television star was anything but smooth, marked by personal turmoil and tough decisions.

Aspirations and financial struggles
Aamir Ali’s career began with dreams of making it big in the film industry. However, his early years were fraught with difficulties as he found himself signing on for films with inexperienced independent producers. Many of these projects never made it to the big screen, leaving Aamir disillusioned and financially drained. “I got a call from Balaji, and they asked if I’d be interested in doing television. When I said yes, they were shocked,” he recalled. Despite his reluctance, Aamir accepted the opportunity, driven by the need to support himself financially.
Emotional breakdown and support from friends
The transition to television was not easy for Aamir. He admitted that he was embarrassed about working on TV, which he saw as a step down from his film aspirations. Aamir often found himself in tears, struggling with the reality of his situation. “I’d run out of money. But I didn’t want to do TV because I thought of myself as a movie star,” he shared. His friends from the film industry, including Sohail Khan, Remo D’Souza, and Hansal Mehta, were concerned about his decision. “I would cry on the streets, in the gym, everywhere. I was so upset about having to do TV,” Aamir added, reflecting on the emotional toll it took on him.

During this challenging period, Aamir often sought solace in his friends, including actor Sohail Khan. Sohail, who was also Aamir’s co-star at the time, questioned his decision to work in television, sensing his inner turmoil. “I laugh about it now, but I can’t even tell you what I was going through back then,” Aamir said. The actor eventually came to terms with his new path, understanding that television was not a compromise but an opportunity to showcase his talent.
Despite his initial hesitation, Aamir Ali became a successful TV actor, earning recognition and respect in the industry. On the personal front, Aamir married actress Sanjeeda Sheikh in 2012, and the couple welcomed a daughter via surrogacy in 2018. However, their relationship ended in 2021 after a separation in 2020.
