Great Smoky Mountains National Park wildfire closes trails, campsites and roads – MASHAHER


Tennessee National Guard members are helping with bucket drops on a 10-acre wildfire in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Hannah Mountain.

These areas of the national park are closed as crews fight the Flint Gap fire:

  • Backcountry campsites 14, 15 and 16

  • Parson Branch Road

  • Rabbit Creek Trail from Abrams Creek to Cades Cove is closed

  • Hannah Mountain Trail from Parson Branch Road to Little Bottom Trail

Crews expect to fight the fire from the air and on the ground over the next several days. The cause of the fire is under investigation with support from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
