Thousands without power, with storm damage in Mid-Michigan – MASHAHER


LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Several power outages have occurred in the Lansing area, leaving several thousand people without power. Trees and power lines are also down all over the area.

The BWL outage map is showing at least 3,100 people without power, including the following outages:

  • Near Groesbeck Golf Course: 1,116 without power, estimated restoration 8:45 p.m.

  • Waverly: 418 without power, estimated restoration 8:45 p.m.

  • Greencroft Park: 390 without power, estimated restoration 8:45 p.m.

  • Near Cavanaugh Park: 482 without power, estimated restoration 8:45 p.m.

  • Near Lyons Elementary School: 122 without power, estimated restoration 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Consumers Energy is showing at least 5,500 people without power, including large areas of Okemos, St. Johns, Perry, Charlotte, DeWitt, Mason, Stockbridge, and near the Captial Region International Airport. These outages are expected to be fixed by tomorrow.

DTE is reporting at least 1,600 customers in the area are without power including Williamston and Howell.

Smaller outages are sprinkled around the area. More than 155,000 Consumers Energy customers are without power statewide.
