Five people were hoisted to safety from the Ladder Canyon Trail southeast of Coachella on Wednesday, with one of them taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The Riverside County Fire Department was notified at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday of five people in need of rescue from the trail, according to the agency. It was unclear how the group became stranded or in need of assistance.
The group — two adults and three juveniles — were hoisted from the trail by a sheriff’s helicopter crew.
One adult male was taken by ambulance to a hospital with “minor injuries,” according to the department.
No other injuries were reported.
